A five cent price hike on stamps could be in the works if the Postal Service gets their way. The Postal Service released their five year plan to Congress on Thursday in order to urge Congress to pass legislation so they can get out of their financial woes that they are in. The Postal Service says that, if nothing is done, it faces $18 billion in losses by 2015. The U.S. Postal Service's plan would save them about $20 billion over the next five years, although it needs Congress to act to achieve $10 billion of it.
Their current plans to achieve their savings is as follows:
This is a dire situation for the Postal Service and action needs to be taken in order for them to achieve financial solvency. What is your opinion on their current financial situation?

The growl came first, low and throaty, piercing the darkness that had fallen across the
remote Australian desert. A infant's cry followed, then abruptly went silent. Inside the tent, the infant girl had vanished. Outside, her mother was screaming "The dingo's got my baby!"
With those panicked words, the mystery of Azaria Chamberlain's disappearance in the Australian Outback in 1980 became the most notorious, divisive and baffling legal drama in the country's history. Had a wild dog really taken the baby? Or had Azaria's mother, Lindy, slit her daughter's through and buried her in the desert?
Thirty-two years later, Australian officials hope to finally definitively, determine how Azaria died when the Northern Territory coroner opens a fourth inquest on Friday. Lindy Chamberlain, who was convicted of murdering her daughter and later cleared, is still waiting for authorities to close the case that made her the most hated person in Australia.
To the rest of the world, the case is largely known for its place in pop culture: countless books, an opera, the Meryl Streep movie "A Cry in the Dark," and the sitcom Seinfeld's spoof Lindy's cry, "Maybe the dingo ate your baby!"

A man has been pulled alive from a snowed-in car in Sweden after being stranded without food in freezing temperatures for two months.
A passer by who was driving a snowscooter, a kind of moped with a flat paddle on the bottom spotted the top of the car on a snow-covered deserted forest road near the Umeaa in Northern Sweden. Temperatures in the area dropped to around minus 30 degrees Celsius (Minus 22 Fahrenheit.)
The man who is in his mid-40s had not been reported missing and hasn't told the press how he came to be stuck in his car. He had appeared to survive on snow since mid-December last year, which in itself is a fairly amazing feat. The man had apparently no access to food and must of survived completely on snow and water. After he was pulled from the car, the man was rushed to Norrlands University Hospital.
An officer from Vaesterbotten Northern County had this to say: "The passer by saw movement and realised there was probably a person in there and called the police. They were amazed at what they found: A man in his mid-40s huddled inside in a sleeping bag in really bad shape, starving and barely able to move or speak."

Las Vegas may be the place for a jackpot, but anyone looking for a good chance at winning, you might have Georgia in mind. Three people in Georgia have won the lottery multiple times in the past year.
"Georgia is a very lucky state." Georgia lottery spokeswoman Tandi Reddick said. "There have been quite a few repeat Georgia Lottery winners who have Lady Luck on their side. It's fantastic for our players and very exciting for us."
The most recent two-time winner is CNN producer Jennifer Hauser, 29, of Atlanta. After playing an instant scratch off card, Hauser took home a check for $1 million. Incredibly, her win was not even 3 months after she won $100,000 on another state lotto game, Georgia Lottery Black.
"I was a little numb," she said "I didn't know what to think."
Hauser says she used the first prize to buy a new car and pay off some bills and is thinking of buying her mom a car with the second, bigger prize.

A sweetener that is used in powdered baby formula and some organic and glueten-free foods may contain extremely dangerous high levels of arsenic.
Enviromenta chemist Brian P. Jackson, who is the director of the Trace Element Analysis Core Facility at Dartmouth University, said that his team found organic baby formula whose main ingredient was brown rice syrup had arsenic levels six times higher than what the EPA considers safe for drinking water. Researchers also found high arsenic levels in some organic foods sweetened with brown rice syrup, including cereal bars, energy bars, and gel energy "shots" that athletes slurp down after working out.

My personal opinion is why has this been going on? If it has high levels of arsenic why not tell the public sooner so stores can get it off the shelves sooner? My advice is look at the ingredients on the packages of food/drinks that you buy you don't want to buy something that is toxic to your health. Arsenic isn't just a chemical that is toxic to your health it's not like the common cold that gets into your system then afterwards your find. Arsenic is a chemical that can kill you if enough of it gets into your system. Just watch what you eat and drink which is why you should check the ingredients on packages.

Stomach- churning offences have been made by 35 year old Jason Louis Wilmert as he is due to go to court tomorrow.
The cat eater from Oildale, California had been arrested from his home, he pleaded that he was not guilty for both charges which were using pets as food and cruelty to animals.
Neighbours also said that they had heard shrieks and crying from the house before Jason had been arrested.
Joe Nuno quoted when he was outside the area that he had seen Jason fire up a burner,
He said: “I heard a cat cry, it was a weird cry, real loud.
I smelled cooking. It smelled like some awful meat.
A deputy told me that he had been skinning cats alive and eating them.”
"Then an officer said, 'Well, you know what, there's some strange things in that house. And, yeah, he's eating animals.'"
It is unclear where the animals came from as there have been no missing pets reported in the area.
Wilmert now faces charges of an earlier case and is currently in custody with bail set at £14,360.

Balanced 328ft above an Australian valley, two daredevils have been showing off the latest extreme sport to enter the common society - slacklining.
Florian Herla and Niklas Winter, tourists from Germany were seen walking across a thin line of nylon that stretched over 115 feet across Hanging Rock in Central Victoria. As the name suggests, slacklining is like tightrope walking except for the fact that the line isn't as taut and will dip wherever the personal walking on it stands.
Its origins can be traced back to the US in the 1980s, but it has become extremely popular in recent years and has split into many different styles.
A spokeswoman from Australian National Parks and Wildlife has said: "It's illegal without prior approval from the park manager if it's a risky activity, which this clearly is," she said."

Two time Olympic gold medal winner Matt Grevers, proposed to his girlfriend, Annie Chandler, in a very strange
and original way. As he was on his medal stand, he didn't have gold in his hand, he had diamond.
His whole family was there and it most likely, gave them a shock. He was planning on doing it Sunday, but the was in fifth place on the stand and that doesn't sound like it would work right? So, he waited until Saturday when it was the backstroke race. That day he had to get in first place to impress her. He took the race out a little fast because his heart was racing so fast.
The couple didn't talk about potential wedding dates, though late July probably won't be in the cards. The 2012 London Olympics begin on the 27th of July. Grevers and Chandler hope they'll both be competing.
This is ,Davey, thinking he has skill.

Mitt Romney ended the worst week of his campaign with a caucus win in Maine. This is Romney's second win since he won in Texas over Ron Paul. He lost to Rick Santorum earlier this week where Santorum won all three states. Those states were Minnesota, Colorado, and Missouri.
Romney's campaign staff released a statement thanking the state's voters. This was not the only good piece of news for Mitt Romney today, he also won a straw poll that was produced by SPAC. Ron Paul is now the only canididate who has failed to win a state in the 9 primaries/caucuses held so far up until now.
What are your predictions as the election season progresses? I still continue to believe that Mitt Romney will take the Republican nomination and will join President Obama on the ballot.
